Comments Off

A 27-year-old man, of Vancouver, was restrained by citizens Friday, when he allegedly attempted to flee a four-car accident he caused, according to a Vancouver police news release.

The man was driving a 2002 Acura sedan east on the State Highway 500 exit ramp when he failed to stop at a traffic light. He crossed southbound lanes and struck a traffic island before crashing with three other vehicles that were stopped at a traffic signal.

Two drivers were injured in the crash. A woman, 20, was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center with serious injuries to the face, chest and collarbone. The other driver, 54, received minor injuries.

The driver of the Acura was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center with minor injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

While the accident is under investigation, investigators believe alcohol, speed and failure to stop at a traffic light were all factors in the crash.
